Custom clearance means customs clearance. In fact, the concept of customs clearance is the same as that of customs declaration, which is a way of declaring and obtaining customs clearance for imported and exported goods. But the general situation is that imported goods are referred to as customs clearance, while exported goods are referred to as customs declaration.

The normal customs clearance requires the following:

1. Bill of lading (for imported goods, it is necessary to exchange it for a DO=delivery order delivery voucher, which is an important customs clearance document)

2. Invoice (Import involves customs declaration at the import port, and taxes are collected as a percentage of the applied amount, which is determined by the type of goods)

3. Packing list (generally involving the main contents displayed on the packing list, such as product name, number of pieces, gross weight, net weight, and volume)

4. Contract (The sales contract is a customs declaration document used to prove the import status of goods)

In addition to these four essential items, there are also many special customs clearance documents for customs clearance

1. Legal inspection of goods (the statutory inspection and quarantine of goods subject to macroeconomic regulation by various countries, that is, goods with a regulatory condition of B when exporting domestically. Steel has always been a commodity that requires legal inspection for both imports and exports domestically, and the importing country needs to have the customs clearance agency of the importing party implement the regulatory conditions for steel)

2. Certificate of Origin (issued by the Inspection Bureau of the exporting country or the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade)

3. Fumigation certificate for wooden packaging (Regardless of which country strictly controls the import of logs and other wood materials, they are generally fumigated for 24-48 hours or more in the exporting country and issued with a fumigation certificate)

4. Various types of tax exemption certificates (such as exemption certificates for military exemption and science and education exemption applied for at the quarantine bureau) This type of certificate is used to handle the duty-free operation of imported goods in the country where the import is located

5. Certification (This type of customs clearance document is mostly focused on trade with China in the Middle East and Africa, as China or other countries in the world do not have very peaceful trade with these regions. For many reasons, these countries will require domestic exported goods to have the invoice and certificate of origin signed by the embassy of the exporting country as certification. The embassy's business seal will be stamped on the back of the invoice and certificate of origin. Egypt is a well-known country that requires this customs clearance document.)

6. Others (many other types of customs clearance documents, including import permits, endangered status certificates, CIQ=pre shipment inspection and quarantine certificates, etc. related to regulatory conditions during import)
